Description
Region: Piedmont, Italy
Appellation: Barbaresco
Type/Style: Red Wine
Grapes: Nebbiolo
100% Nebbiolo from Treiso, fermented in large oak vats with an extended 40–45 day maceration, then aged in large oak botti for 18 months before release. It has the depth and structure you want from Nebbiolo, but the years have started to bring out the more savory side of the wine — ripe red fruit, forest floor, and beautifully mellowed tannins.
The Sandri family has been farming vines in Treiso since 1950, with Rosanna taking over alongside her husband Franco before their sons Mauro and Roberto joined the family winery. Today, the family works with a deliberately hands-off approach — farming by hand, encouraging biodiversity, fermenting with native yeasts, and letting the vineyards and Nebbiolo speak for themselves.
