Benoit Courault Le Petit Chemin is a with natural, ecological and biodynamic barrel-aged white wine made with the Chenin Blanc variety in the Loire Valley (France) by Benoit Courault.

One of the most famous producers of Loire wines and natural French wines, Benoit Courault cultivates 5 hectares of old vines in the most natural way. All of his work is based on the principles of his teacher, Eric Pfifferling and results in lively wines with exceptional purity and full of fresh fruit.

The Benoit Courault Le Petit Chemin wine comes from a vines over 60 years old planted in shale soil with volcanic residue. Organic agriculture is practiced, using biodynamic treatments instead of chemical products, which promotes the natural balance of the terroir. The land is also worked using a horse. The yield is very limited, between 20 and 30hl / hectare and the harvest is completely manual.

In the winery, the Benoit Courault Le Petit Chemin grapes are vinified with minimal intervention. For this, they ferment with native yeasts and without temperature controls in vats covered with Vaslin fibre. Then they age in these same containers. The wine is not filtered or clarified and no sulphur is added before bottling.

Benoit Courault Le Petit Chemin is a very good introduction to the world of Courault natural wines. A complex wine that showcases the great Chenin variety with fruit, tension and pleasure.
