Since taking over his grandparents' vineyards in 2010, Étienne Calsac has become one of Champagne's most exciting young growers. Les Rocheforts comes from a single Premier Cru vineyard in Bisseuil, where pure chalk soils give the wine its unmistakable precision and energy. Produced entirely from Chardonnay and supplemented by a perpetual reserve started in 2012, the wine combines citrus, green apple, white flowers, and brioche with a distinctly chalky finish. Vinified in a combination of barrel and stainless steel and bottled with minimal dosage, Les Rocheforts is a focused, terroir-driven Blanc de Blancs that beautifully captures Calsac's thoughtful approach to Champagne.
