Vincent Dancer Chassagne Montrachet 2023

Tasting Notes

The 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet from Vincent Dancer greets you with aromas of pear blossom, fresh lemon-zest and a whisper of toasted almond—there’s a light floral undercurrent that draws you in. On the palate it broadens into orchard-fruit richness (ripe Golden Delicious apple, white peach), balanced by a stony, chalky minerality and bright, clean acidity. The texture is silky, with subtle oak integration (barrel-aged, but not heavy), finishing with a saline-tinged length and gentle savoury lift.

Why It’s Special

  • This bottling offers rare entry into Chassagne-Montrachet from a grower who prioritises vineyard health and terroir expression, so you’re getting top-end hillside character without the ultra-rare price tag.

  • Under Vincent Dancer’s (and now Theo Dancer’s) direction the estate works organically, with minimal intervention, making wines that reflect site and vintage rather than winemaking flash.

  • The 2023 vintage here evidences good depth and cut, giving this Chassagne-Montrachet both drink-now appeal and — with a little patience — further complexity down the road.

  • For your customers looking for a white Burgundy that balances finesse, pedigree and approachability, this hits the sweet spot: elevated but not over-the-top.

About the Producer

The domain of Vincent Dancer is rooted in the Côte de Beaune, where Vincent (originally from Alsace) transitioned from engineering into viticulture and winemaking. Since founding the domaine in 1996, he has steadily honed a philosophy that the vineyard is where the wine is created—and the cellar merely helps it along. Certified organic since 2012, the estate emphasises low yields, old vines, minimal additions, native yeasts, gentle élevage and no heavy manipulation. With his son Theo increasingly involved, the domaine is evolving while staying true to its terroir-first DNA. For this Chassagne-Montrachet 2023 you’re tapping into all of that: authenticity, precision and a sense of place.
