This wine is a Cristom classic, 100% Pinot Noir, and exclusively from the Eola-Amity Hills. It is the embodiment of the Cristom style – marrying whole-cluster and native yeast fermentations.
Our Mt. Jefferson Cuvée Pinot Noir is the first Pinot Noir of the vintage to be crafted after multiple tastings of every individual barrel. This blend of Pinot Noir is predominately from Cristom's renowned estate single vineyards - Paul Gerrie, Eileen, Jessie, Louise, and Marjorie Vineyards - along with exceptional fruit from esteemed neighbors.
The variety of vineyard sites offers a diverse array of soil types, elevations, and aspects, and are further shaped by coastal winds and volcanic geology, adding to the fruit character and structure that give "Mt. Jeff" its well-deserved reputation as one of the most stylistically consistent Pinot Noirs in the world.
Tasting Notes: The wine is vibrant and fresh with popping acidity and an effusive strawberry and cherry character. With 46% whole cluster fermentation, the spice is effortlessly integrated into the wine with fine tannins. This vintage is simply outstanding.
