Rated X is an uncommon Pinot Meunier. It comes from the parcel Les Boulards (same as Delalot’s Impressions cuvée) is characterised by its deep root system on a sandy soil, giving a very expressive and coloured meuniers. All the press from harvest 2017 had been used to craft Rated X. Instead of adding a dosage, the decision had been made to put more sugar than the usual way at bottling. They wanted to give more sugar than the yeasts could consume and see the result step by step during one year and a half will be. The aim was to have sugar from the beginning of the process instead of a dosage. The name of the cuvée is inspired by a Miles Davis title. Jérôme Lefèvre often takes his inspiration from music and contemporary art.
