Description
Region: Savoie, France
Appellation: Ayze
Color/Style: White Wine
Grapes: Gringet
Situated in the township of Marignier, Le Feu Ayze Blanc 2022 boasts a renowned terroir. On a south-facing hillside, this parcel of land is composed of marl heavily infused with iron oxide. Unlike Belluard's blended offering, Domaine du Gringet has chosen to produce a single-parcel wine from vines planted exclusively on red marl. The vinification and aging process of their Le Feu is consistent with all other parcellaire wines, with the only variations being a result of the distinct terroirs. This includes a gentle pressing, fermentation and 9 months of aging on fine lees in egg-shaped cement tanks, bottling without fining or filtration, and an additional 10 months of aging in glass. Leading this process is winemaker Vincent Ruiz, ensuring a high-quality final product.
