Five plots facing south-east on very clayey soil. A synthetic form of Chablis, long, mineral, powerful, complex. This beautiful wine can be kept for four to fifteen years.
The 2017 Chablis Montée de Tonnerre 1er Cru has a slightly earthier bouquet than the more flattering Mont de Milieu at the moment, just a touch of oyster shell coming through with aeration. The palate is well balanced with noticeable weight and girth, good volume in the mouth with veins of stem ginger, fanning out with confidence on the finish. Very fine, though I prefer the elegance of the Mont de Milieu at this prenatal stage. - 92 AG
