Deep, gorgeous amber/golden color. Fatty and nutty, with flavors of apricot skin, pepper, creme brulee, and honey. Incredibly complex and bold nose. Decadent sweetness but lifted by zesty acidity.
6 Puttonyos Aszú hails from one of the best modern Tokaji vintages. 2000 was also Geza Sr.'s second ever vintage. From Lenkey’s family estate Nyulaszo vineyard in Mád. The soil is brown forest clay with volcanic minerals and limestone tuff. Hand harvested, spontaneous fermentation, and aging for 3 years in small 260L gönczi barrels (Hungarian oak). Rested in bottle for an additional 2.5 years in Lenkey's 550-year-old cellar before release.
