The Padelletti family is one of Montalcino’s oldest and most traditional winemaking families. While the Denomination of Brunello di Montalcino did not become a protected appellation until 1980, though the family had vines dating back to the 16th century! The family currently utilizes a single plot of land next to the town of Montalcino called Rigaccini Secondo. As their family’s legacy has been steeped in Tuscany for so long, the current generation focuses on the traditions of the region. Making wines of elegance and their intense passion for farming is at their forefront of the family’s vision.
Coming from the estate vines of 30-35 years, the wine ages in both Slavonian and French oak barrels for thirty months, with the latter being the only way the family breaks the local tradition.
