In 1976 Pierre Plouzeau bought a dilapidated winery in the Loire Valley with hopes of restoring it to its former glory. After more than a decade of replanting vineyards and rebuilding the estate Pierre was finally able to open his own winery. His son Marc took over in 1999 and this wine now proudly bears his name. This Touraine Sauvignon Blanc comes from 30 year old vines grown on a combination of gravel and clay soils. The bright citrus notes give way to rounded flavors of peaches and melons before finishing with a dry, minerally finish. Finally, there is a touch of fresh cut green herbs and white flowers that provide depth on the nose and palate.
