Vincent Dancer Pommard Perrieres 2023
Tasting Notes
The 2023 Pommard “Les Perrières” begins with fragrant aromas of ripe cherry and raspberry, accented by orange zest and a subtle spice thread of clove/cinnamon. On the palate you’ll find medium-bodied intensity: pure red fruit, fresh acidity, polished but present tannins, and a mineral under-current giving a bright, energetic finish. The whole-bunch inclusion (in part) and restrained extraction give this Pommard a clarity of fruit and finesse rather than brute power.
Why It’s Special
-
Set on 0.91 ha just outside Beaune, in the premier hillside terroir of “Les Perrières”—a rare plot for the winery and one that underscores the seriousness of this wine.
-
From the house of Vincent Dancer, known for organic/low-intervention vineyard work and terroir-driven expression—this isn’t a standard village Pommard, it’s crafted with thoughtful precision.
-
2023 vintage offers brightness and access early while retaining depth—so it’s both pleasurable now and worth holding a few years.
-
For your boutique audience this ticks all the boxes: Burgundy pedigree, great story, stylish and drinkable yet with cellar potential.
About the Producer
Vincent Dancer is an estate rooted in the Côte de Beaune with a philosophy that the vineyard is where the wine is made. Since initiating organic certification (and vineyard re-plantings) the domaine has steadily built a reputation for refined yet expressive wines. Through disciplined viticulture, low yields and minimal winemaking interference, Dancer’s wines reflect the soil—clay and limestone in this case—and the vintage, with a distinctive clarity and elegance. With younger generation involvement (his son Theo) the estate is evolving while maintaining its terroir-first mindset.
